x. x. x. x. x. a.
x. x. x. x. x. a.
x. x. x. x. x. x. b
x. x. x. x. x. c
x. x. x. x. x. c
x. x. x. x. x. x. b
x. x. x. x. x. d
x. x. x. x. x. d
x. x. x. x. x. x. b

Ryter Roethicle se gedigte “Cello in the Wind,” “Memories,” “Oh Please,” “Tutti a Merda,” “Vail” en “Vulnerable Cycles” is goeie voorbeelde van hierdie tipe gedig. Daar is ook nog menigte ander voorbeelde op die internet beskikbaar.

Hier is my pogings tot die Balassi stansa:

Ons was oomblikke stout (Balassi stansa)

a Ons was oomblikke stout,
a buite was dit yskoud
b toe ek na jou skoonheid staar,
c jy begeertes erg wek
c ek jou in my arms trek
b was ons liefde openbaar,
d was woorde oorbodig
d het ons mekaar nodig
b en nooit kry die drange klaar.

Die son vlug half verward (Balassi stansa)

Die son vlug half verward
maar jy is in my hart,
ek is die winter vervul
as winde buite loei
jy self aan my vasgroei,
die wolke die son omhul
reën gedurig neer sif
soen jy my met geesdrif
van tyd het ek geen benul.

Die herfs is in blare (Balassi stansa)

Die herfs is in blare,
mense se gebare
as bome reeds skelet staan
bring die najaar reeds pyn,
as die winter verskyn
die stormwind deure toeslaan
met son kolle wat plas
kaal bome in hul bas,
alleen stap ek in die laan.

Dis reeds vroeg donker nag (Balassi stansa)

Dis reeds vroeg donker nag,
die donder slaan met krag
by my huisie teen die rand
of dit van God self kom
as jy klop is ek stom,
sien jou kar se ligte brand
dit is woes daarbuite
met reën teen die ruite,
jy omhels my vat my hand.

Daar was ‘n duister nag (Balassi stansa)

Daar was ‘n duister nag
waarop ek vir jou wag,
die uur bly vêr, half verward
want jy dra toe my naam
is met ‘n minnaar saam
ek voel die pyn in my hart
weet jy lieg, dit betwis
toe ek die waarheid wis
jou oë verraai, los net smart.

About a daisy (Balassi stanza)

She picked a white daisy,
drew off petals easy
said he loves me or does not
watched the white flower,
scared to get it over
wondered what she had got
her tears gleamed like dew
and the answer she knew,
picked flowers for a pot.

Through the woods we both went (Balassi stanza)

Through the woods we both went,
together time to spent,
as we walked in the hills
we saw the deep blue sea
were somehow quite happy
your hair was like daffodils
had a bright yellow glow
such bliss I did not know,
forgot about all the ills.

So lovely on that morn (Balassi stanza)

So lovely on that morn
when our kisses were born,
beauty has joy forever
and somehow we did change,
but it did not feel strange,
I wish it to be never
much different from this
a fragile kind of kiss,
the flower wilts however.

Carnations (Balassi stanza)

Carnations grow lovely,
perfect beauty I see
in vivid colours of white
red, pink, some are yellow
with loveliness they glow,
are usually quite bright,
they smell somewhat like cloves,
have purity of doves,
they are flowers drawing sight

Anemone (Balassi stanza)

Like big white and red eyes
opening under the skies
growing from a russet stalk
fragilely flowering
early in the new spring
when some people laugh and talk
they hardly ever see
your bright blooms hanging free
while chatting past they do walk.

Morning Glories (Balassi stanza)

You open with the red sun
with small petals that run
over walls from tiny seeds
in purple-blue small cups
everywhere streaming up.
People see you as a weed
while in clusters you grow
opening from the first glow,
are very lovely indeed.

When purple petals show (Balassi stanza)

When purple petals show
speckled black and yellow,
a small modest lily spread
lovely vivid colours
blooming for many hours
as she opens her bright head
and as time passes by
she draws the human eye
before she withers, are dead.
